Fannie Munson in shade can be a beautiful bright pink. More sun exposure usually produces less vivid pink coloration. Its leaves can sometime be almost translucent, making it a less than ideal caladium for sunny locations where it will sunburn easily.
This picture displays Fannie Munson that is planted in deep shade with highly acidic soil. Notice that these conditions have changed the "typical" appearance of this variety. There is more green present and the pink has become more scarlet in color. It is true of most caladiums that a soil with high acidity will darken their colors.
This variety usually always produces a plant with many large leaves.
