White Queen is a good hardy sun tolerant white. Distinguishing it from most white caladium varieties is the bright red center vein. This center vein may also "bleed out" when this variety is immature. The picture to the left shows

what White Queen typically looks like shortly after germination. Fertilizers can also aggravate the spread of pink in the White Queen. Another variation that is commonly seen in White Queen is the spidering green veins. The picture at right is a good example of this effect. White Queen usually becomes whiter as it matures, but that may not always be the case. This caladium does not typically produce the larger size bulbs. The average size is a #1.
